Meet Beth

I am a born and bred New Orleanian and a sports enthusiast! I love my New Orleans Saints, Boston Red Sox, and college football. But the one sport that I never thought I would love as much as I do is the game of golf. Literally everything about it. You get paid based on how well you play, you follow the rules and you’re accountable for mistakes. To me, it is the closest thing to real life. I was raised in a family of 8 kids and nothing was handed to us. We earned what we wanted just like every shot on the golf course. Funny that it was the one sport that eluded me until I was in my early 20’s and thankfully has stuck with me to this day.

I was introduced to the sports industry in 1986 while working in the fundraising office of Tulane University’s athletic department. Tulane provided me the perfect introduction to all aspects of sports and events, and I gained a great deal of experience. But in 1991 an unexpected meeting with a truly kind Tournament Director of the Fore!Kids Foundation, which is the organization responsible for running the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, changed everything for me. I was 27 years old in a male dominated industry, but I knew it was what I wanted to do. It was the challenge I had been waiting for and there it was being handed to me. I knew nothing about running a golf tournament but felt that it was an event just like anything else so how hard could it be, right? So very WRONG!!! That first tournament tested me in every way possible, but I came out of it just a little wiser with a great deal more appreciation for the hard work that went into it. Fore!Kids Foundation gave me the opportunity to learn what would thenbecome my career. Like everything else in life things change and in 1997 my life changed in the best possible way when my son arrived, and my priorities changed. Being a parent and running a PGA TOUR event put me in a position to choose my priorities and the choice was quite simple…FAMILY FIRST. In 2001, I left the Fore!Kids Foundation to spend more time with my son and have more control over what aspects of running a tournament I enjoyed most. I enjoyed helping charities and consulting with them to make their tournaments better. This was what made me happy and still does to this day. It gives me great satisfaction to see something go from a thought on paper (or computer) to the day of the event. I have been fortunate enough to do this in the Greater New Orleans area and in Chicago, Baltimore, Portland & Minneapolis.

In these 30 years in the golf industry, I have worked with over 2,000 organizations, raised millions of dollars, and continue to enjoy being with my family. I am currently a member of the NOMCVB (N.O. Convention & Visitors Bureau), GNOSF(Greater N.O. Sports Foundation), AFP(Ass. Of Fundraising Professionals), MPI(Meeting Planners International) and GTAA(Golf Tournament Association of America.)
